Meet Candice and Pamela!!

I'm excited to show you the two projects that these awesome gals created!!

Meet: Candice McLean
Candice McLean - Quantico, VA
Candice has been in love with the arts since a young child. Her father and grandfather are both self taught artists and her grandmother was a passionate craft artisan. Having the many influences helped nurture her love and passion for all kinds of art.

Candice began her study of art in high school... taking several fine art and photography classes. She continued her undergraduate studies at VCU (Richmond, VA) then later studied at Mira Costa College (Oceanside, CA) and finally received a BFA in Graphic Design from Laguna College of Art and Design (Laguna Beach, CA).
In 1999 after the birth of her first child, Candice began scrapbooking. Falling in love with the paper craft, she applied for a design team position at a local scrapbook store and then became involved with leading manufacturer's within the scrapbook industry. She has designed scrapbook products for the industry, has been featured in several publications, and she has designed and taught workshops throughout the southern CA area.
Candice describes her style as eclectic and continually evolving. She loves shabby chic, a little country grunge and clean modern lines. Whether behind a camera, computer, sewing machine or paint brush, she loves to experiment with various textures, lighting and mediums.
Here's the project she created.

Meet: Pamela Young
Hello! My name is Pamela Young, and am thrilled and honored to be a part of the Punky Sprouts team! I absolutely LOVE scrapbooking. It is a way of life for me. :) I love doing mini albums, and I REALLY love how Punky Sprouts' albums mix canvas, acrylic and chipboard! My style keeps evolving. I love to try new things. People have told me that they will see something by me and know it is mine before reading who did it. So I must have the "Pamela" style. :) I have been published in several different magazines (Cards, Creating Keepsakes, Memory Makers, Scrapbooks and Cards Today, Scrapbooks Etc, and Scrapbook Trends). Currently I am also designing for My Little Shoebox and Tattered Angels, and I write for ScrapStreet magazine. I keep an updated blog at http://pamelasworldofscrap.blogspot.com/. ;
I live in the very beautiful state of Colorado. I am a SAHM to two wild boys, ages 7 and 5, and a 1 yr. old baby girl. They grow up so fast. I am enjoying life right now, even though it can get a bit chaotic. I have a wonderful husband who is supportive of my crafting obsession. We have been married for 10 years. Family plays a big part in my life.

Here's her project she created

Favorite Moments by Crystal Thorsen!!!

This book by team member, Crystal Thorsen is so beautiful and elegant.
Crystal has been on the team longer than I have. She created beautiful projects for CHA when I first learned about this awesome company!!!

My name is Crystalyn (or Crys) Thorsen and I live in beautiful, wet and rainy Oregon. I'm a mama to two amazing, obnoxious, wonderful children and wife to a great man. I started scrapbooking in 2004 when my daughter was a baby. Her baby book didn't have enough room for all the stories I wanted to tell about her first year so I decided to make my own. My scrapbooking style has evolved over the years from simple and graphic, to artsy and messy, and back again. I love the versatility of this craft and love being able to create unique pages and albums to capture memories on. I design for Technique Tuesday and now Punky Sprouts and enjoy the unlimited creativity inspired by both companies.

Here is her beautiful project created using our Punky POSH album.

Awesome talent in the house!!!

Shelly and I had the great pleasure of attending and teaching at the Great American Scrapbook Convention in Texas this weekend.
We had a lot of fun meeting scrappers from all over and getting to hang out, shop, scrap, and more.
I met this AWESOME gal named Rosandra Simmons. The second we spoke I knew we'd be friends!!! She has this amazing personality and is extremely talented!!!
She purchased one of our Punky Sprouts albums and decided to just go to town with it at one of the crops we attended. When she showed me what she had done, first I WOW'd over it and then I asked her if I could feature it on our blog. I was so thrilled that she said yes!!! I asked her to tell me a little bit about how it was to work with her very first Punky Sprouts album. Here's what she said.

Here's the story behind the album... I totally LOVE mixed media albums. So when I purchased the heart album I had a plan in mind for it. I am the only female in my household (even the pets are male). So I was excited to make a girly album. I carried the heart album from vendor to vendor at GASC til I found THE paper that spoke to me. Once I found the paper that inspired me (Adornit Carolee's Creations Princess Polka Dots), then the rest was finding embellishments, complimenting papers and ribbons. I completed the album in about 4 hours (most due to drying time for the Stickles, metallic paint pens, and wet adhesives).

Here's the project that she made.

Thanks Rosandra!! You are amazing!!
Please leave this gal some awesome praise!!! She rocked it!!
